• Richard “Dick” Brown, a former City Council member and former Neptune Beach mayor, has filed with the governor’s office to be considered to finish the term of City Council member Art Graham, who was appointed to the state Public Service Commission. The seat will be up for election again in 2011 and four candidates have filed to run for the seat.

• Leadership Jacksonville changed the date of its annual reunion luncheon, again, this time to Oct. 1. Too much else was going on the first two dates. “Who says that there is nothing to do in Jacksonville,” says LJ in its latest e-mail.

• Lawrence C. Datz of the Datz & Datz firm has become Board Certified in Marital and Family Law by The Florida Bar.

• Gas prices are up in Jacksonville, reports www.JacksonvilleGasPrices.com. It said Monday that average retail gasoline prices in Jacksonville rose 1.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.64 a gallon on Sunday. The national average was up 0.6 cents to $2.75 a gallon. Jacksonville prices were up 17.1 cents per gallon over the year.
