Saturday marked 15 years that members of the Downtown Council of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce have assembled early in the morning before the first Jacksonville Jaguars home game of the season. They bring paint rollers and stencils and leave a trail of bright yellow Big Cat paw prints from the corner of Ocean and Bay streets all the way to the stadium.

More than 100 members, spouses, children and guests gathered to continue the tradition before the Jaguars vs. Dolphins preseason game.

With the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office providing traffic control and with the help of The Roar and Jaguars mascot Jaxson De Ville, the original 236 paw prints were repainted, plus another 32 were added to extend the trail around EverBank Field.

“We wanted to get the entire community involved this year because the Jaguars are such a part of the community,” said paw print committee Chair Bonnie Arnold.
