The holiday season marks the return of The Jacksonville Bar Association’s “Bench and Bar” party, which celebrated its 31st year.

The event was created to provide a social atmosphere for judges and lawyers to network and enjoy the holidays.

“I am pleased that so many of our members were able to attend. It is truly one of our best events,” said Courtney Grimm, The JBA president.

“The ‘Bench and Bar’ party is a time for our judiciary and bar to enjoy fellowship with each other, promoting professionalism and engendering networking and friendships,” she said.

Federal (bankruptcy, district and magistrate) and state (circuit and county) judges attended the event. About 40 were seen during the annual photo session and mingling in the lobby of the Aetna Building.

This marked the third year the event was held at the Southbank building, which also houses The JBA offices.

The JBA staff estimated attendance at about 360 people.
