• The City Rescue Mission is looking for funding help. According to COO Bill Duguid, the nonprofit has seen a rise in demand for its services but is looking at $120,000 less in funding than last year. He says the mission will serve 280,000 meals this year and provide over 110,000 “safe clean bed nights.”

• Look for the reopening of the Riverside Arts Market Saturday. The market enters its second season after a very successful first season.

• JTA officials met with Neptune Beach Mayor Harriet Pruette Friday to discuss the mound of dirt just south of the Intracoastal Waterway bridge on Atlantic Boulevard. Pruette contends the mound, which was created by the Army Corps of Engineers, is eroding and affecting the nearby ecosystem. JTA spokesman Mike Miller said the next meeting will be at the Neptune Beach town hall, but a date hasn’t been set.

• The agenda for the next North Florida Transportation Planning Organization has a couple of information items that should prove interesting. During its March 11 meeting, the board of directors will receive a presentation regarding the Spaceport Master Plan while also receiving a follow-up presentation on the Regional Transportation Management Center. The management center presentation will include its expected layout and potential tenants of the facility.

• Today marks the launch of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce’s new Region Business Center. The online business model will assist companies of all sizes by providing different tools and resources for success.
