Incomes in metropolitan Jacksonville dropped in 2009 from both 2008 and 2007, as the national recession started in December 2007 and was declared over as of June 2009.
Median household income, which means half of incomes are higher and half are lower, dropped more than 8 percent, while average income fell more than 6 percent.
Median family income fell almost 8 percent, while average family income dropped 7 percent. A family is a group of related people. Households include families as well as people who live together.
Per capita income in metro Jacksonville fell more than 6 percent.
