Florida Bar Past President and Jacksonville-based trial attorney Howard Coker traveled to Ireland, Scotland and Wales this summer in connection with the annual meeting of the International Academy of Trial Attorneys.
Coker is a Fellow in the invitation-only organization, which is limited to 500 members, balanced by both sides of the Bar: prosecutors and defense lawyers in criminal cases, and plaintiffs’ and defense counsel in civil litigation (including business and personal injury cases).
With members hailing from 30 countries, the academy’s stated purpose is to promote legal reforms, promote the Rule of Law internationally, and elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession.
Coker attended the Academy’s British Isles annual meeting in June with several other Florida Fellows of the organization.
