Executive Director, Memories of Love Foundation and the Riverside Hospital Foundation

Mission
Memories of Love serves the children of parents who are battling a life-threatening illness by sending the family to Orlando for five days and providing tickets to area theme parks and a room at a resort along with financial support.

The Riverside Hospital Foundation provides financial assistance to corporations, organizations, services and programs exempt from federal income tax under Section 501c3 that engage in or support the research, delivery or provision of health care, or seek to improve health care delivery and organizational effectiveness.

Serving Jacksonville
Memories of Love was established in August 2005 as a living memorial to the late Marty Gottlieb, who was a businessman, husband and father of two young children. At the age of 25, he established Martin Gottlieb & Associates, a physician-billing company that today employs more than 150 people. It is a national company, headquartered in Jacksonville.

The Riverside Hospital Foundation was founded in 1996 after Riverside Hospital was sold to St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

Those served
Memories of Love has served 400 Florida families, consisting of more than 1,600 parents and children, and more than 800 families nationwide since its inception.

The Riverside Hospital Foundation has disbursed more than $9 million among almost 400 grants in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties.

Biggest challenge
For Memories of Love, providing charitable service while safeguarding the recipient’s self-respect.

For Riverside Hospital Foundation, to identify and work with partners who would assist in perpetuating the qualities that made Riverside Hospital special: personalized treatment, high-quality care, clinical-based nurse training, and caring attitudes.

Biggest satisfaction
At Memories of Love, each family memory trip is a legacy and tribute to Marty Gottlieb, a short life well lived.

At Riverside Hospital Foundation, I have witnessed the foundation’s grants effect the startup of numerous organizations, such as the Sulzbacher Dental Clinic, Vision Is Priceless, Barnabas Dental Clinic/Nassau County, Seniors on a Mission, Volunteers in Medicine and Hospice in St. John’s County, to name a few.
