Starting Monday, the Sulzbacher Center said it and the City Rescue Mission, the Clara White Mission and The Salvation Army will introduce a new public meal schedule for a 60-day trial period.

The Sulzbacher Center said the schedule is a reduction in its serving schedule and a change in the meal schedule at the Clara White Mission.

The Sulzbacher Center previously served breakfast, lunch and dinner every day to the public and the Clara White Mission previously served lunch to the public every day.

The schedule eliminates weekday lunches for the public among the shelters.

The new public meal schedule is an effort to streamline services and reduce costs for the shelters.

• The Sulzbacher Center and The Salvation Army will serve dinner to the public every night at 6 p.m. and 6:20 p.m., respectively.

• The City Rescue Mission will continue to serve the public every day at 4:45 p.m.

• The Clara White Mission will serve breakfast to the public every morning at 8:30 a.m.

• The Sulzbacher Center will serve lunch to the public only on the weekends.

The Sulzbacher Center said Trinity Rescue Mission has chosen to maintain its normal meal schedule, which is to provide a meal at 7:30 p.m. to individuals who attend its 6:30 p.m. church service.

This trial period will run for 60 days, after which an evaluation will be conducted.

The Sulzbacher Center provides an opportunity for homeless men, women and children to achieve a better life.

The center’s comprehensive services include street outreach, daily meals, safe shelter, case management, job placement, medical, dental, and mental health care as well as scattered-site housing.

Every day, the Sulzbacher Center is home to more than 300 homeless members of the community, many of whom are children.

The City Rescue Mission is a nonprofit, faith-based organization that has provided help to the homeless and needy in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida since 1946.

In addition to emergency services for the homeless, it provides programs such as the New Day Workforce and LifeBuilders, which help people get off the streets and back on their feet.

The City Rescue Mission serves about 280,000 meals a year and provides more than 100,000 nights of shelter.

For more than 107 years, the Clara White Mission has helped Jacksonville’s homeless and low-income individuals.

The mission’s one-stop community development center offers seven-day-a-week meal service, training in culinary arts and janitorial environmental services, employment placements, case management, a drop-in day center, housing and a student training café at St. John’s Cathedral.

The Salvation Army, has been supporting those in need for 129 years in the United States.

Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children.
