Early voting starts today in Duval County for the May 17 general election.

The ballot contains eight races whose winners were not determined with a majority vote in the March 22 first election.

Early voting runs through May 15.

Voters can cast ballots from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.

Registered voters who want to vote early can visit one of 10 sites:

• Duval County Supervisor of Elections Main Office, 105 E. Monroe St.

• Supervisor of Elections Branch Office at 5200-2 Norwood Ave.

• Beaches Library, 600 Third St., Neptune Beach.

• Highlands Library, 1826 Dunn Ave.

• Mandarin Library, 3330 Kori Road.

• Regency Square Library, 9900 Regency Square Blvd.

• South Mandarin Library, 12125 San Jose Blvd.

• Southeast Library, 10599 Deerwood Park Blvd.

• Webb-Wesconnett Library, 6887 103rd St.

• West Regional Library, 1425 Chaffee Road S.

Voters who prefer to vote on May 17 can do so from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at their precincts.

Absentee ballots must be received by the Supervisor of Elections Office by 7 p.m. May 17. The last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot is by 5 p.m. May 11.

As of this morning, the 519,540 registered voters in Duval County consisted of 228,475 Democrats, 192,956 Republicans and 98,109 others.

Democrats accounted for 44 percent of registered voters and Republicans were 37 percent.

Included on the ballot:

• Mayor: Alvin Brown (Democrat) versus Mike Hogan (Republican).

• Tax Collector: Michael Corrigan versus Dick Kravitz (both Republican).

• City Council At-Large Group One: Kimberly Daniels (Democrat) versus David A. Taylor (Republican).

• City Council At-Large Group Four: Greg Anderson versus Jim Robinson (both Republican).

• City Council At-Large Group Five: Donald R. Foy (no party affiliation) versus Robin Lumb (Republican).

• City Council District 1: Lindsey Brock versus Clay Yarborough (both Republican). Yarborough is the incumbent.

• City Council District 6: Matt Schellenberg versus Jack Webb (both Republican). Webb is the incumbent.

• City Council District 14: Jill Dame versus Jim Love (both Republican).
