New command at JCCI

Jacksonville Community Council Inc. President and CEO Ben Warner (left) joined immediate past President Skip Cramer at a JCCI open house Wednesday afternoon held to welcome Warner to the post and say farewell to Cramer, who retires after seven years at the top with the community group. It also was Cramer’s 67th birthday. “I still have a little office in the back where I can play,” said Cramer. Cramer, a 32-year Navy veteran and former commanding officer at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, led the North Florida Region of the American Red Cross for 10 years before taking the JCCI job. JCCI was created in 1975 to bring together citizens to study community issues. It just began its 72nd study, “Children: 1-2-3,” a focus on how Jacksonville can best foster early learning success for children ages 1-3 in the community.
