Mission
Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation provides life-saving equipment to first responders, prevention education, natural disaster preparedness and financial resources to individuals pursuing a career in the public safety sector. Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is committed to supporting the men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting ours.

Those served
We have a designated fund for first responders in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties. Since inception in 2005, we’ve donated more than $130,000 to first responders on the First Coast.
Biggest challenge
As with all nonprofits, our biggest challenge is raising enough money. We receive so many compelling grant requests that we are simply unable to fund. If all guests purchased a $1 medallion in October during our Fire Safety Month campaign, we would raise nearly $100,000. That adds up to a lot of life-saving equipment.

Hosting special donation events at our restaurants to dedicate life-saving equipment to firefighters, police departments and emergency service personnel. Hearing their heart-warming stories of bravery and day-to-day experiences, knowing Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation will help them save lives.

Before joining Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, I was director of development and marketing at Jewish Family & Community Services in Jacksonville.
Upcoming events
October is National Fire Safety Month and at all Firehouse Subs restaurants, our customers will be able to buy a “medallion” to support our first responders. Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. medallions are paper shields guests purchase and personalize to adorn the walls of our restaurants. Customers who purchase a $5 medallion will receive a free 9-volt battery (while supplies last) for their smoke detectors at home. This is an excellent opportunity to raise funds for first responders while helping the community. Last October, the campaign helped to raise more than $225,000 systemwide. These donations help us provide life-saving equipment and fire-safety tips to the community, as well as giveaways to help educate and raise awareness about the importance of smoke detectors in our homes.
Customers can donate year round as each restaurant recycles leftover five-gallon pickle buckets and sells them for $2. Donation canisters on register counters explain the nonprofit’s mission and collect spare change, while the round-up program allows guests to literally “round up” their bill to the nearest dollar. Spare change adds up to big change, and all donations are greatly appreciated.
