Tebow's 3rd PDQ planned in St. Johns County
Former NFL and University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow plans his third area PDQ restaurant, this one in St. Johns County along Florida 13 at Race Track Road.
Tebow is a partner in the North Florida PDQ development.
The first PDQ — "People Dedicated to Quality" — opened Nov. 3 at Beach and Hodges boulevards and the second will open early next year at 13702 Old St. Augustine Road in Bartram Park.
Plans were filed for the third area restaurant at Bartram Walk West.
Bohler Engineering of Tampa is the civil engineer for the project, described as a 3,865-square-foot fast-food restaurant on 1.2 acres. There also will be outdoor patio seating and a drive-thru.
The owner is MVP H2 Jacksonville – Racetrack & San Jose Propco LLC of Tampa.
PDQ's menu features chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, salads, fries, coleslaw, apple slices and shakes and other beverages.
The Daily Record reported in October that the first five area PDQ locations were planned at Beach/Hodges; Old St. Augustine Road; Florida 13/Race Track Road; West Jacksonville; and the St. Johns Town Center area.
The Race Track Road site is expected to open by the end of May, followed by the West Jacksonville site in late summer and the St. Johns Town Center area location by the end of 2014.
Moe's closer to River City Marketplace location
Moe's Southwest Grill will join another retail tenant in a building proposed along Max Leggett Parkway at River City Marketplace. Plans show Moe's will take 2,600 square feet of a 4,000-square-foot building on an acre at the North Jacksonville retail center.
The Angelo Group is the contractor; Doherty Sommers Architects Engineers Inc. is the architect; and Almond Engineering is the civil engineer. Ramco-Gershenson Inc. is the developer.
No retail tenant was identified for the remaining 2,400 square feet of space in the Moe's building.
Applebee's renovating
The city approved permits for renovations to three Applebee's restaurants at 14560 Old St. Augustine, 843 Lane Ave. S. and 5055 Butler Blvd. Total costs are $410,000 for renovations, inside and out.
Mojo kitchen to be remodeled
The city also approved kitchen remodeling for Mojo Bar-B-Q LLC at 1607 University Blvd. W. It's a $95,050 project.
