• Tracie Porreca is the new general manager and Jeffrey Heckard is the director of sales for the Holiday Inn Jacksonville in Baymeadows along the Interstate 295 East Beltway. Porreca most recently was general manager of Hampton Inn & Suites in Ponte Vedra.

• The Police Athletic League of Jacksonville Inc. elected Joshua Roberts to its board of directors. Roberts is an attorney with Holland & Knight, practicing in the area of commercial litigation. The board also elected officers: Roger Gibson as president; Stephen Vining, first vice president; Kimberly Waterhouse, second vice president; and Diana Wendland, secretary-treasurer.

• Florida Coastal School of Law named Rosa DuBose as associate dean of experiential learning. She will serve to expand the school's existing experiential learning programs, as well as create opportunities to further the law school's commitment to prepare graduates for the practice of law. DuBose will reach her 10-year anniversary with Coastal Law in August.

• The City Downtown Development Review Board will meet at 2 p.m. July 11 in the Don Davis Room at City Hall, 117 W. Duval St.

• The St. Johns Riverkeeper and Riverside Arts Market are partnerning Saturday for the "River Ruckus" family festival to celebrate the river and weekly festival. Events include a flotilla of watercraft and celebrity jump on the river, live music and other activities. The event is 10 a.m.-9 p.m. at the market under the Fuller Warren Bridge. • The Jacksonville Jaguars will open eight training camp practices to the public starting July 26. The sessions comprise the first eight non-walkthrough sessions, which includes the 6:45 p.m. Aug. 3 scrimmage at EverBank Field. Restroom facilities and concessions will be available. • Gov. Rick Scott has reappointed Carol Ann Christopherson to the Florida Independent Living Council. Christopherson owns Florida Service Dogs Inc. and is reappointed for a term that began Monday and ends June 30, 2016. The council is a statewide organization consisting of 15 voting members. Its purpose is to promote independent living opportunities for people with disabilities throughout the state.

• The City is seeking volunteers for its Beaches Cleanup event from 7-9 a.m. Friday. The City and Keep Jacksonville Beautiful is partnering with the Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol for the annual cleanup after the Independence Day holiday. Litter collection bags and gloves will be distributed to volunteers at three locations: Atlantic Boulevard at the ocean, Beach Boulevard at the ocean and 16th Avenue South in Jacksonville Beach at the ocean. Participants must be 18 years old or accompanied by an adult and volunteers are encouraged to bring sturdy footwear, sun protection and drinking water. Advance registration is not required. • Longtime Jacksonville radio station Planet Radio has returned to the Jacksonville airwaves after a three-year absence. The station is FM 106.9 and will play "today's rock from artists like Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, Shinedown, Three Days Grace and the best rock from the '80s and '90s," according to a news release. Fans also can listen through the station's website, 1068planetradio.com.

• Reynolds Smith & Hills announced that David Robertson, president and chief operating officer, will retire from his leadership positions with the company at the end of the year. He will continue to serve as a member of the board of directors and as a special adviser. The board chose David Sweeney to replace Robertson as COO starting Jan. 1.

• Bill and Kim Prescott scheduled their next "Dine with Us Downtown" July 18 at Indochine upstairs at 21 E. Adams St. It's a return visit to the restaurant by the group led by the Prescotts, who want to support Downtown by hosting monthly dinners at dining establishments on the Northbank and Southbank.

The Prescotts have reservations for 7 p.m. and ask diners to make theirs anytime 5:30-9:30 p.m. The dinner will feature a 6:30 p.m. presentation by Ida Metzger of Diversions Relaxation Gift Store. She will talk about Jax Pack, Downtown's new merchant association.

There will be no "Dine with Us Downtown" in August because the "Eat Up Downtown" annual dining promotion is scheduled Aug. 12-25.

Prescott is former CFO of the Jacksonville Jaguars and serves on the boards of Downtown Jacksonville Inc. and Visit Jacksonville.

• Baptist Health announced that Chris Durkin, vice president and controller of Pavilion Health Services Inc., is now a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

To be awarded the distinction, applicants must be credentialed as a certified health care financial professional; be an association member for at least five years; complete a bachelor's degree or 120 semester hours from an accredited college or university; and volunteer in the association or the industry.

Fewer than 1,200 members nationwide have achieved the distinction in the organization's 65-year history.

Pavilion Health Services is a subsidiary of Baptist Health and Durkin's management and financial responsibilities include Baptist Home Healthcare, Baptist Pharmacies, Clinical Engineering Technology and services that include infusion and respiratory therapy.

Durkin has served with the association since 1997. In 2009 he received the Muncie Gold Merit award for outstanding service.

• Florida State College at Jacksonville Foundation had five new members of the board of directors at its recent meeting. They were Jeff Edwards, Andrew King, Elizabeth "Betsy" Ross Lovett, Velma Monteiro-Tribble and Scott Verlander. "We feel that these five individuals will add a tremendous amount of experience and community involvement to our current board membership," said Maggie Hightower, foundation executive director.

• TRC Staffing Services Jacksonville hired Erin Powers as director of sales and marketing. She will be responsible for using sales and marketing tactics to develop relationships with clients in Northeast Florida.

• Gov. Rick Scott reappointed Susan Towler to the Florida Commission on Community Service. Towler, president of the Florida Blue Foundation, was reappointed for a term that began Tuesday and ends Sept. 14, 2013.
