Downtown Jacksonville’s tallest office building, the Bank of America Tower, is for sale.

Jeff Morris and Jubeen Vaghefi of Jones Lang LaSalle are representing Parmenter Realty Partners in marketing the 42-story landmark structure at 50 N. Laura St.

Morris confirmed Tuesday morning that the building is on the market, but declined further comment pending a news release.

Parmenter Realty Partners bought the building in July 1999 for $74.72 million, property records show. The tower, designed by architect Helmut Jahn, was developed as the headquarters for Barnett Banks Inc.

Miami-based Parmenter, through Jacksonville Tower Associates, bought it from NB Holdings Corp., the successor to Barnett Banks Inc. Barnett was sold to NationsBank Corp. in 1998.

The tower is one of four Downtown buildings that have been listed for sale. The Aetna Building on the Southbank has been sold, while the EverBank Center and Wells Fargo Center are for sale.

Morris and Vaghefi are managing directors for Jones Lang LaSalle’s Capital Markets Group. Morris is based in Orlando and Vaghefi is based in Miami.
