One day after Jacques Klempf and Fraser Burns detailed the latest plans for their Cowford Chophouse Downtown in the Bostwick Building, they announced purchase of an ownership interest in MAF Restaurant Group LLC, owner and operator of Pele’s Wood Fire in Riverside.

Forking Amazing Restaurants, Klempf and Burns’ operations and management group, plans to create a new concept and rebrand Pele’s.

The restaurant, at the corner of Park and King streets, will be closed during the transition process.

Mark Frisch, owner of MAF as well as the Jacksonville Armada North American Soccer League franchise, will remain as a shareholder and full-time consultant.

In addition to Cowford Chophouse, Klempf and Burns also own Bistro Aix in San Marco and Ovinte at the St. Johns Town Center.

Forking Amazing spokeswoman Alexandra Klempf said the company is not releasing any more information regarding the project.
