William Van Nortwick Jr. received The Florida Bar Foundation’s Medal of Honor Award.

Van Nortwick is a partner at Akerman, where he is in charge of the firm’s pro bono program. The former appellate court judge also is a member of the Florida Commission on Access to Civil Justice.

He received the award for his decades of service to access to justice issues.
