Environmental and Real Property Law

Chairs: Jamie W. Karpman and Leah A. Walker

Goals: Promote networking and continuing education opportunities for our committee members through social events, roundtable discussions, and CLE presentations. On Sept. 16, prominent local environmental and real estate attorneys will present a four-hour CLE (applied for) seminar covering brownfields, land title issues, development, and how to work with local governments.

How to get involved: Attend our upcoming events. CLE seminar, 12:30-4:30 p.m., Sept. 16; Lunch and Learn CLE, noon-1 p.m., Oct. 20; and Happy Hour, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 18. Visit our committee page or email us for more information.

Alternative Dispute Resolution

Chairs: Robert A. Cole and Dave Brecher

Goals: (1) To work to increase participation among ADR Committee membership and the level of our interaction with the other Litigation Section committees. (2) To continue to provide quality CLE/CME opportunities for our membership and foster the exchange of ideas and experiences in order to make us more effective ADR practitioners.

How to get involved: Contact Robert Cole at [email protected] or the Jax Bar Office and ask to join the ADR Committee.

Commercial Litigation

Chairs: Josh Roberts and Adina Pollan

Goals: To increase membership, share knowledge and experience, and foster collegiality among commercial litigators in The Jacksonville Bar Association through CLE presentations, shared resources and networking events.

How to get involved: Please contact Josh Roberts ([email protected]). We would like to increase our membership. And we are interested in hearing from members about areas of the law they would like to learn more about through presentations and shared resources.

Probate, Trust and Guardianship Litigation

Chairs: Christopher J. Greene and Jason P. Van Lenten

Goals: We hope to attract members to this new committee by providing at least three CLEs or presentations per year (covering substance-, procedural- and ethics-based issues) and quarterly emails regarding relevant RPPTL activity and statutory changes. We believe the committee will benefit the JBA and its membership by providing for informed practitioners in a growing field, while providing the specialized practitioners a referral network.

How to get involved: Email the chairs at [email protected] and [email protected].
