Nominees sought to fill judicial vacancy left by Cofer's retirement

The 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission will provide Gov. Rick Scott with nominees for a vacancy in Duval County Court due to the retirement of Judge Charles Cofer.

Applicants must have been members of The Florida Bar for the preceding five years, registered voters and must be residents of Duval County at the time he or she assumes office.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. Feb. 11. The form can be downloaded at floridabar.org.

A complete version must be delivered to Gilbert Feltel Jr., chair 4th Circuit JNC, Tanner Bishop, One Independent Drive, Suite 1700, Jacksonville, FL 32202.

Candidate interviews will be March 3 in Chief Judge Mark Mahon’s office at the Duval County Courthouse.

A list of finalists will be sent to Gov. Rick Scott, who will make the selection.
