About 100 workers are tearing out the interiors of 144 rooms and rebuilding them at the Lexington Hotel & Conference Center Jacksonville Riverwalk. Lifts were used to take out debris and old furnishings and to haul up new materials at the five-story hotel. Other construction groups also are at work. Vantage Hospitality Group is investing at least $20 million into renovating the hotel and grounds by year-end. The showrooms could be completed this week.
