The city is reviewing plans for the Southside Quarter office building that will be leased to anchor tenant McKesson Corp.

The four-story, 123,829-square-foot structure is planned on 7.8 acres along Gate Parkway at Commerce Village Drive at southwest Butler Boulevard and Interstate 295.

That’s at the northern end of Southside Quarter, a Hines property.

England-Thims & Miller Inc. is the consulting engineer.

McKesson said in January it agreed to anchor the proposed Hines office building. Hines, based in Houston, said it would lease the entire building to McKesson’s Medical-Surgical business.

McKesson intends to move into the structure in the summer of 2019.

City incentives — a $700,000 Recapture Enhanced Value grant — calls for McKesson to retain 428 jobs and create at least 10 more at an average salary of $45,562. Construction must start by June 30 and be completed by end of 2019.

McKesson Corp., based in San Francisco, bought Jacksonville-based PSS World Medical Corp. in 2013 and continued to lease the PSS space in Southpoint.

The office building is the first of two planned at Southside Quarter.
