Lucky’s Market can build-out in OakLeaf Station in southwest Jacksonville, which will be its second area grocery store.

The city approved the permit Wednesday for Lucky’s Market Operating Co. LLC. Lucky’s Market opened in December 2016 in Neptune Beach.

Snyder General Construction Inc. of Berkley, Michigan, is the contractor for the $1.34 million build-out of the 30,000-square-foot store at 8380 Merchants Way. It is leasing next to the 12-screen Epic Theatres.

Lucky’s Market spokesperson Krista Torvik said the store plans to open in summer 2019.

Lucky’s Market posted job openings for a store director and two assistant store directors. Torvik said a store usually hires 130-150 employees.

OakLeaf Station is along Merchants Way, south of Argyle Forest Boulevard. The landlord is Sleiman Enterprises.

The Neptune Beach store is at 580 Atlantic Blvd.

Luckysmarket.com shows that the Boulder, Colorado-based company has 34 stores in 11 states, including 15 stores in Florida.

Founded in 2003, Lucky’s Market is focused on natural, organic and locally grown products.

In April 2016, The Kroger Co. and Lucky’s Market announced a strategic partnership that was expected to significantly accelerate the growth of the Lucky’s banner.
