The Army Corps of Engineers wants to hear from contractors interested in bidding for one of four contracts for the Jacksonville Harbor 47’ Deepening Project.
The Corps of Engineers on Wednesday issued a Sources Sought notice to “gauge interest, capabilities, and qualifications of members of the dredging community, as well as subcontractors who may be interested.”
The notice is not used to solicit formal proposals or to award bids, but seeks responses from contractors who will eventually submit bids for “Contract B,” a 60-month project for dredging about 5 miles of the St. Johns River at an estimated cost of $150 million to $210 million.
Interested companies are asked to keep their responses to 10 pages and include, among other requirements, identifiable information, relevant experience, a letter of current bonding capacity of up to $210 million and any joint venture information.
Subcontractors are asked to do the same.
According to the instructions, companies are asked “not to submit a response to this synopsis if you do not intend to bid on this project.”
Responses, accepted by email only, are due to the Corps of Engineers by Feb. 10, ahead of an official solicitation for bids which is expected on or about April 30.
