Dostie selected as third Wildlight homebuilder

The Jacksonville-based company will be the first to build townhomes in the Nassau County neighborhood.

A third homebuilder has been chosen for Wildlight, a new town being built in Nassau County with plans for roughly 1,000 houses, townhomes and apartments.

The developer, Raydient Places + Properties, picked Jacksonville-based Dostie Homes to build the community's first townhomes in Wildlight Village. Dostie, founded in 1958, is a family-run business that has been passed down through the generations. It is run by brothers Rick and Chris Dostie.

“Dostie Homes is beyond excited to join the team at Wildlight. Nassau County is vibrant and growing, and Wildlight is leading the way. We look forward to being a part of this new community for a very long time,” said Chris Dostie, president of Dostie Homes.

In addition to the homes, Wildlight will also include an elementary school, a recently announced YMCA, 500,000 square feet of commerical space and 350 acres of preserved open space. The entire community, at completion, will be 2,900 acres.

Dostie joins the two other homebuilders, D.S. Ware Homes and Dream Finders Homes. Dostie plans to build two-story townhomes consisting of duplex and triplex buildings with optional alley entry garages and large front porches. They will range between 1,300 to 2,000 square feet and have options between two bedroom units with 2.5 baths to 4 bedroom units with 3.5 baths.

Home prices in Wildlight start in the mid-$200,000s. Prices for Dostie's townhomes are expected to be released later this year.

Wildlight is being developed at northeast Interstate 95 and Florida A1A, about 20 miles north of Jacksonville.

The community's first apartment community is being reviewed by the St. Johns River Water Management District. Atlanta-based Varden Capital Properties and Tellus Partners will work with Buckhaven Construction Services to develop the 279-unit apartment complex on 12.7 acres.
