Hotel notes: Holiday Inn Express breaks ground near Town Center

Residence Inn by Marriott planned near Mayo Clinic.

Ground was broken for the Holiday Inn Express next to the iFly Indoor Skydiving center under construction along Brightman Boulevard near St. Johns Town Center.

The 93-room, four-story hotel is expected to open in July.

FGC Inc. is the lead general contractor. Ameris Bank is the lender. Paramount Construction Group is a subcontractor and working with the interior.

Jyostna Jerripothula is the owner.

• Hotel Development Partners LLC bought property near Mayo Clinic to build a 155-room, seven-story Residence Inn by Marriott. Through San Pablo RI LLC, the developer paid almost $2.8 million for 2.64 acres at 4915 San Pablo Road S. It bought the land from Steinemann San Pablo LLC. Hotel Development Partners CEO Allen O’Brien said previously the group expects to break ground early in the first quarter of 2019 and open in fall 2020. The site is part of a development at San Pablo Road and Dixie Landing Drive owned by Steinemann San Pablo LLC. Steinemannco.com shows San Pablo Place as a 16-acre site for “upscale mixed-use” to include hotel and retail space.
