Adecco Group executive Rich Thompson was named the 2019 chairman of Gator Bowl Sports.
Thompson will preside over the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl and the JaxSports Council and JaxSports Charities.
Thompson and his family moved to Jacksonville in 2013 from Zurich, where he worked at Adecco’s international headquarters. He was a kicker for the University of Wisconsin football team and earned first-team All-Big Ten honors in 1992.
“I look forward to utilizing my background in athletics and business acumen to contribute to the continued success of Gator Bowl Sports and having the opportunity to celebrate the 75th playing of the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl game,” Thompson said in a news release.
At Adecco Group, Thompson is regional head of human resources, North America, U.K. and Ireland. Adecco’s North America headquarters is in Jacksonville
