Most of Regency Square Mall is scheduled to be auctioned in a foreclosure sale to satisfy a $162,872 judgment signed Feb. 1.

The property at 9501 Arlington Expressway is currently listed on the Duval County Clerk of Courts foreclosure website, duval.realforeclosure.com, to be auctioned at 11 a.m. March 21 after a notice of sale was filed Friday with the clerk's office.

The judgment was in favor of JAAMM Inc., the former Jacksonville Automotive & Motorcycle Museum, and against Regency Mall Realty LLC, Regency CH LLC and Regency Nassim LLC, related to Namdar Realty Group, owners of the mall since 2014.

The owners of the museum were found by the court to have invested more than $135,000 in improvements in the space leased by the museum in the mall, but the owners failed to repair roof leaks. That failure led to the city refusing to issue the certificate of occupancy needed to allow the public into the space.

The final judgment includes reimbursement for the improvements, attorney fees and court costs.

Elliott Nassim, president of Mason Asset Management Inc., a partner in the ownership group, said after the final judgment was entered that the mall will not be sold as scheduled.

“There was a lawsuit and the judge made an order and we'll do whatever is required by law. This is not going to be a sheriff's sale,” he said.
