Restaurant notes: 1748 Bakehouse in Springfield; Edley’s Bar-B-Que in Ortega; and Taco Bell in Mandarin take steps

The city approved a permit for Styles Smith Plumbing Inc. to build-out space for 1748 Bakehouse at 1748 N. Main St. at a cost of $165,000.

Kurt and Allison D’Aurizio plan to convert the former Carl’s Restaurant at Eighth and Main streets into a 1,500-square-foot, 34-seat bakery and restaurant.

Edley’s Bar-B-Que in Ortega

The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing the proposed 150-seat Edley’s Bar-B-Que project at 5344 Ortega Blvd.

A First Coast Energy gas station on the 0.54-acre site has been removed for development of the 5,800-square-foot Edley’s, which is planned along Roosevelt Boulevard.

The owner and developer is Voto LLC, led by Virginia and Todd Ogletree. Almond Engineering is the civil engineer.

Taco Bell in Mandarin

Taco Bell will remodel its Mandarin restaurant at 11646 San Jose Blvd.

The city is reviewing a permit application for a $275,000 project to renovate the dining room and restrooms and to make exterior repairs.
