Based on research indicating that people are looking for an alternative to the traditional holiday meal, Hardee's has developed its first seasonal meal: Thanksgiving in a Box.
The new product is being test-marketed only in Jacksonville.
According to a news release, the box includes Stuffing Tenders, white meat chicken coated with herb stuffing breading, fried and served with chicken gravy; Toasted Onion Coated Green Beans, a take on green bean casserole; and sweet potato waffle fries.
Hardee's says its research indicates 26% of people surveyed are tired of the same recipes, 35% want to reduce their holiday stress and go out to eat, 64% are willing to skip the turkey and 53% are looking for new side dishes on the menu this year.
Thanksgiving in a Box will be available beginning Wednesday and then until Dec. 3 for $6.99 at participating restaurants.
