The University of North Florida has begun the search for a new dean for its business college.

“Dean Mark Dawkins has decided to return to the Coggin College of Business faculty at the end of his current contract, which runs through the remainder of the current academic year,” said UNF spokeswoman Deb Kuhr.

“UNF thanks him for his service and will embark on the search for a new Dean following conversations with faculty, staff, alumni and advisory board,” Kuhr said.

Dawkins is a professor of accounting at UNF and a CPA. He received a Ph.D. in accounting from Florida State University, MBA and Masters of Accounting degrees from the University of Florida and a bachelor's in management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
He joined UNF and the Coggin College of Business in June 2015 after serving 21 years on the faculty in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia.

Dawkins teaches undergraduate and graduate financial accounting classes and has taught intermediate accounting, MBA financial accounting and intermediate accounting for nonmajors.
