GE Appliances, a Haier company, opened its Smart Distribution Center at the former Sears distribution center it is leasing in North Jacksonville. It is part of the company’s $150 million national investment to expand its smart distribution network.

GE Appliances said the digital system provides greater data accuracy, streamlines the inventory process and increases capacity and reliability. GE employs 80 people at the 815,000-square-foot warehouse.

Steve Campbell is the regional sales manager for GE Appliances.

 Joe’s Crab Shack sale

Colliers International Northeast Florida Executive Director Chuck Diebel represented Mike and Elaine Ashourian in their $6 million purchase of the Joe’s Crab Shack restaurant property and an adjacent parking lot in Jacksonville Beach.

The property is under a ground lease to Joe’s Crab Shack, which will remain in operation under the new ownership.

The parking lot will continue to serve customers of the restaurant.

The Ashourians bought the property through Beach South One LLC. The 8,032-square-foot restaurant is at 15 S. First St. and the 80-space surface parking lot is at 110 Beach Blvd.
