The city issued a permit Sept. 20 for Glasfloss Industries Inc. to add 28,504 square feet of space to its Jacksonville International Tradeport warehouse at a cost of almost $5.1 million.

The Haskew Co. is the contractor for the addition to the almost 75,000-square-foot facility, expanding it to about 103,500 square feet.

Glasfloss makes air filtration products at the 1310 Tradeport Drive center in North Jacksonville. It bought the Tradeport building for $2.3 million in 2002 from NatureForm Inc.

The structure was built in 1995 on almost 7.1 acres.

Family-owned Glasfloss, based in DeSoto, Texas, operates five manufacturing plants in DeSoto, Ohio, Wisconsin, Nevada and Jacksonville.

The Glasfloss.com website said that in 2002, Glasfloss bought “a modern 80,000 square foot facility located in Jacksonville, Florida. This facility serves the thriving Southeast markets and improves lead times and shipping costs for customers in that region.”

The Dun & Bradstreet business data provider reports that Glasfloss Industries Inc.’s Jacksonville facility is part of the HVAC Equipment Manufacturing Industry and has 86 employees.
