Eight candidates for judicial vacancy

Applicants will be interviewed Feb. 10 for the vacancy created by the retirement of Circuit Judge Daniel Wilensky.

The 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission will interview eight applicants Feb. 10 for the vacancy created by the retirement of Circuit Judge Daniel Wilensky.

Interviews will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the chief judge’s conference room on the seventh floor of the Duval County Courthouse and are scheduled to conclude by noon.

The applicants, in order of interview, are:

• Attorney James Kallaher, a partner at Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin.

Duval County Judge Robin Lanigan.

• Attorney Matthew Lufrano, owner of Lufrano Legal P.A.

• Attorney David Trotti, owner of David P. Trotti, P.A.

• Assistant 4th Judicial Circuit Public Defender Joshua Beard.

• Fourth Judicial Circuit General Magistrate and Hearing Officer Brooke Brady.

• Attorney Corrine Bylund, managing partner at Bylund Law PLLC.

• Attorney Nancy Cleaveland, managing member at Cleaveland & Cleaveland P.L.

After the applicants are interviewed, the commission may send up to six nominees to Gov. Ron DeSantis to be considered for appointment.

The commission’s proceedings are open to the public, with the exception of deliberations. The interviews also may be viewed by Zoom at Meeting ID 613 984 7385.
