Automotive group owner Jack Hanania will see his family’s name on the 1200 Riverplace Blvd. building he bought in August.

The city approved a permit Jan. 27 for Taylor Sign & Design Inc. to put “Hanania” on the front of the top floor of the 10-story building at a cost of $16,000.

Hanania said Jan. 28 that the sign should be up in February.

The building has had no name on it for more than a year.

Through Hanania Riverplace LLC, Hanania paid $20.67 million for the former Stein Mart headquarters building and six-level garage.

Fashion retailer Stein Mart Inc. vacated it in 2020 after filing bankruptcy.

The Stein Mart name came down in November 2020.

Hanania, owner and CEO of Jacksonville-based Hanania Automotive Group, intends to move his headquarters into about 10,000 square feet of space, continue to lease to existing tenants and recruit more companies.

Hanania said the group intended to move in during the first quarter but build-out was delayed. He expects to make the move in three to five months.

The building has 200,627 square feet of rentable space, with 120,000 square feet available for lease.

“We have some great interest,” Hanania said.

Hanania said work has started on upgrading parts of the building.

Jim Sebesta, CEO of Newmark Phoenix Realty Group, is the leasing agent.
