The TJX Cos. Inc., the umbrella ownership for off-price retail brands TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and Homesense, announced April 28 it will open its first Sierra active and outdoor-gear store in the state May 30 in Jacksonville.
Sierra will open at 8 a.m. that day at Riverplace Shopping Center at 11111 San Jose Blvd., Suite 57, in Mandarin, south of Interstate 295.
TJX said in a news release that the 16,700-square-foot store will carry apparel, footwear and gear for hiking, running and everyday use at up to 60% off department and specialty store prices.
“Sierra’s mission resonates locally — whether shoppers are teeing off at Bent Creek Golf Course or biking the trails at Kathyrn Abbey Hanna Park, there’s something for every level of adventurer,” TJX said in the release.
Grand-opening events include a ribbon-cutting, Sierra-branded giveaways, and a DJ playing music “during a hidden hang-tag activity featuring gift cards hidden throughout the store.”
TJX said Sierra will donate $10,000 to a Jacksonville charity as part of the opening.
The release said the location introduces apparel, footwear, and gear designed “to support movement in all its forms,” from walking, running errands and casual outdoor time to high-energy workouts and adventures.
“As the only off-price retailer dedicated to active and outdoor, we’re committed to making top brands and quality gear attainable at great value, so shoppers can feel confident and ready, no matter how they choose to move,” said Sierra Vice President of Marketing Jill Tully in the release.
Regular hours are 9:30 a.m. To 9:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m. To 8 p.m. Sunday.
