Nassau County received a pre-application for Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries to build in Yulee in The Home Depot parking lot.
The application shows it will be a 2,490-square-foot drive-thru and dine-in restaurant on 0.9 acres.
It appears to be the second Hwy 55 in the area. Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries, a 31-year-old North Carolina chain, applied for a permit to build its first Jacksonville area restaurant at 6707 Commonwealth Ave. at an estimated $700,000.
That 2,501-square-foot restaurant and drive-thru is planned on 1.12 acres east of Interstate 295 in western Duval County.
Nassau County received a pre-application for Ellianos Coffee to build an 800-square-foot drive-thru shop in the Amelia Plaza parking lot in Fernandina Beach.
Ellianos plans at least a dozen locations in Northeast Florida.
