The city is reviewing a permit for Tropical Smoothie Cafe to build a restaurant and drive-thru on 0.53 acre at 5821 Beach Blvd. in Boulevard Crossing at northwest Beach and University boulevards.
The 1,679-square-foot cafe, with 282 square feet of outdoor patio space with seating, is planned at an estimated cost of $700,000.
Florida DYNE LLC of Little Rock, Arkansas, is the restaurant owner.
Taylor & White Inc. of Jacksonville is the civil engineer.
Colliers Executive Director Jason Ryals is the real estate agent for the site, a former The Chicken Koop Wings & Things restaurant.
