Twin Peaks delayed its Jacksonville grand opening to 5 p.m. Sept. 7, “due to recent weather events and unforeseen circumstances.”

It planned to open Sept. 4, Labor Day, which had been delayed from July 31 also due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

“Stay safe, happy and healthy,” Twin Peaks posted on its Facebook page Aug. 30, as Hurricane Idalia pushed through Northwest Florida and created uncertain weather in Jacksonville.

“We look forward to seeing you soon at your first Twin Peaks in Jacksonville Florida.”

Twin Peaks is building-out at 11892 Atlantic Blvd at southwest Kernan and Atlantic boulevards in East Arlington at a project cost of $1.76 million.

The Dallas-based Twin Peaks sports bar and restaurant chain calls itself “the ultimate sports lodge featuring made-from-scratch food and the coldest beer in the business surrounded by scenic views and the latest in high-definition TVs.”

The menu includes appetizers, wings, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, soups, salads, sides, desserts and entrees.

Twinpeaksfranchise.com says Twin Peaks is built upon five brand pillars – “The Twin Peaks Girls, made-from-scratch food, 29° draft beer, sports on wall-to-wall TVs, and of course, the local lodge atmosphere.”

The city issued a permit March 2 for Cliff Mason Construction LLC of Swainsboro, Georgia, to renovate the former Cinco de Mayo building, which began as Johnny Carino’s. Cinco de Mayo moved to Harbour Place.

The permit shows the 6,542-square-foot restaurant is being renovated.

Previous plans showed the addition of interior dining space and a patio addition.

Franchise owner Moussa Haidar filed a fictitious name with the state June 9, 2022, to do business as Twin Peaks Restaurant.

The closed Kernan West restaurant was built in 2003. It originally was leased to Johnny Carino’s Country Italian and then became a seafood restaurant before it, too, closed.

Twin Peaks says 90% of its restaurants are conversions of existing free-standing casual dining restaurant locations.

Twinpeaksrestaurant.com shows there are 12 in Florida, including the two coming soon to Jacksonville and Sarasota. The closest to Jacksonville is in Daytona Beach.

Twin Peaks reported July 28 that it was set to reach 103 locations before the end of July and plans to open eight more restaurants in several new markets before the end of the year.
