Starbucks converting Wendy’s at Beach and San Pablo

The coffee shop intends to move into a renovated fast-food restaurant as the company continues to relocate into stand-alone locations.

The city issued a permit Oct. 4 for Starbucks Coffee Co. to convert a former Wendy’s into a new Starbucks.

R.E. Crawford Construction of Sarasota is the contractor for the $500,000 renovation of the 2,733-square-foot fast-food restaurant and drive-thru at 14447 Beach Blvd.

The site is at northeast Beach Boulevard and San Pablo Road.

GDP Group of Cleveland is the civil engineering consultant.

Starbucks operates an in-line store at 14355 Beach Blvd., across San Pablo Road from the Wendy’s site.

The Seattle-based coffee chain has been replacing in-line stores with nearby stand-alone stores and drive-thrus.
