A longtime member of the city of Jacksonville Planning and Development Department has been named interim chief of the community planning division.

Kristen Reed

Helena Parola, a supervisor in the division, will begin her duties as the head of the division effective June 15. The move comes after Kristen Reed, chief of the division, left the city for a planning position at England-Thims & Miller Inc. after 24 years with the city.

According to her LinkedIn account, Parola is a University of Florida graduate and has been a city employee for 26 years.

The city says the search for a long-term successor for Reed is active and ongoing.
