Culver’s is looking at a site at northeast Max Leggett Parkway and Hyatt Road for a 100-seat restaurant and drive-thru on 1.67 acres.

The site is east of the Department of Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic and domiciliary planned to open this year.

Wisconsin-based Culver’s specializes in ButterBurgers — burgers on buttered, toasted buns — and frozen custard. The menu includes chicken sandwiches and tenders; seafood sandwiches and dinners; salads; sides; soups; and more.

A JEA service availability request shows the restaurant with 52 parking spaces and a double drive-thru ordering system. The seating includes indoor and patio seating. Newkirk Engineering Inc. of Ormond Beach is the civil engineer.

The site plan for the Culver's planned in North Jacksonville at Max Leggett Parkway and Hyatt Road.

The property is owned by Gas Max Holdings LLC, led by Corner Lot CEO Andy Allen.

Gas Max assembled seven parcels totaling about 2.6 acres in April 2022. The concept plan filed with JEA shows the Culver’s site along with a future parcel of 0.49 acre and a retention pond.

Culver’s newest restaurant is in development in Glen Kernan Park.

The city issued a permit Sept. 5, 2023, for McCon Building Corp. of Highland, Wisconsin, to build a 5,333-square-foot restaurant at 4768 Hodges Blvd. at a project cost of $1.95 million. It is Northeast Florida’s eighth Culver’s restaurant.

The Culver’s sites are owned by franchisees. The area’s first Culver’s opened in July 2019.
