Mayor Donna Deegan’s office will make a presentation on improvements to EverBank Stadium at the start of the May 14 Jacksonville City Council meeting, according to a media advisory issued by the Council.

The presentation is expected to start at 5:15 p.m., 15 minutes after the start of the Council meeting. The Council meets at City Hall at 117 W. Duval St. Council meetings are available online here

Deegan’s administration announced May 8 that the framework for a deal between the city and the Jacksonville Jaguars on the team’s “Stadium of the Future” would be delivered at the start of the Council meeting.

The Jaguars requested a 50% split with the city for the project, which includes revamping EverBank Stadium to include such new features as a mirrored facade, wraparound concourse and clear membrane over a portion of the roof to shade all seats from sun and rain.

Initial cost estimates for the stadium were as high as $1.4 billion.

This week will also mark the start of a series of community meetings to present details about the agreement and gather public opinion. All meetings are 6-7:30 p.m. Admission is free and no registration is required.

The city updated the event times May 15 reducing their length by 30 minutes.
