The next lunch and learn sponsored by the 2024-25 Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section is a panel discussion focused on civil practice in circuit court.
The presentation is from noon to 1 p.m. March 6 in Chief Judge Lance Day’s chambers at the Duval County Courthouse.
Panelists will be 4th Circuit Judges Virginia Norton, James Daniel, Robert Dees, Waddell Wallace and Michael Sharrit.
The judges will share their vantage point from the bench as it relates to Duval County Circuit Civil divisions covering professionalism, the do’s and don’ts of civil circuit court and practical tips for young lawyers appearing in their courtrooms.
The program is approved for 1.0 general CLE, 1.0 professionalism credit and 1.0 civil trial board certification credit.
The JBA will present “Celebrating women in the law and leadership: Onward and upward with empowerment and professionalism” from 3-5:30 p.m. March 25 at the Bryan Simpson U.S. Courthouse.
Chief U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of Florida Marcia Morales Howard will moderate a panel discussion exploring leadership and professionalism in the legal profession.
The panel will feature JBA board of governors members Adina Pollan, Shannon Schott, Amber Donley, Alexandria Hill, Kathryn Stanfill and Kayla Herrin. They will share their insights on balancing ethical commitments with leadership responsibilities, mentorship and fostering trust in the justice system.
The program is approved for 3.0 general CLE credits and 3.0 professionalism credits. It will conclude with a networking reception.
