Jacksonville-based Norlee Group, a full-service mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design and engineering firm, announced Aug. 10 it had acquired Vintage Electric Inc. of Gainesville.

In a news release, Norlee Group said the move is part of the company’s strategy to grow across the Southeast, strengthen its presence in North Central Florida and expand its ability to provide integrated, full-service solutions to customers.

The transaction was finalized Aug. 6, the release said.

Effective immediately, Vintage Electric will switch to the Norlee Group name and brand. Vintage Electric President Chancey Padgett will serve as vice president of service for Norlee Group.

“Vintage Electric has earned a strong reputation for quality workmanship, trusted customer relationships, and a people-first approach to business,” Wally Budgell, CEO of the Norlee Group, said in the release. “Those qualities align perfectly with our values at Norlee Group and make this partnership a natural fit.”

The Norlee Group says it employs a workforce of more than 700 professionals delivering electrical, mechanical, technology contracting, MEP design engineering and underground infrastructure services for clients in healthcare, multifamily, hospitality, commercial, education, industrial, manufacturing and public works.
