A planned Turner Ace Hardware store is permitted for construction on the St. Johns County side of Nocatee.

St. Johns County issued a building permit July 21 for the 44,507-square-foot, $10.5 million project.

Turner Crosswater LLC purchased the 5-acre parcel at 1245 Crosswater Parkway, where the store is planned, from the Davis family through Sonoc Company LLC for $1.9 million in September 2025. The Davises founded Winn-Dixie.

The vacant property is about 0.5 mile east of Nocatee Splash Water Park and near St. Johns County Fire Rescue Station No. 18.

Houston-based DCCM is the civil engineer. Gainesville-based Scherer Construction is the contractor.

Turner operates five other Northeast Florida stores, including locations at 784 Marsh Landing Parkway in Jacksonville Beach, 13164 Atlantic Blvd. and 2771 Monument Road in Jacksonville, and 150 San Marco Ave. and 6205 Florida 16 in St. Augustine.

Turner is a family-owned business that also includes Turner Home, a furniture and home furnishings store with locations at 784 Marsh Landing Parkway in Jacksonville Beach and 6205 Florida 16 in St. Augustine, where it shares a location with the hardware store in the master-planned SilverLeaf community.
