A proposed St. Augustine Boost Coffee + Energy location can move forward after St. Johns County issued a building permit July 23 for the $450,000 construction of a 713-square-foot drive-thru coffee shop.
It is planned at 87 Ashourian Ave. on an outparcel at The Forum at Greenbriar off County Road 210.
St. Augustine-based Marvel Construction Group LLC is the contractor. Yuro & Associates of Ponte Vedra is the civil engineer. Jacksonville-based Ash Properties, through Forum at Greenbriar LLC, is the landlord.
Other tenants at the shopping center include Avalon Nail & Spa, Brooks Rehabilitation, Extract Juicery and Poppy’s Italiano.
Boost projects growth to as many as 450 locations throughout the United States by 2030, according to a company presentation.
“We are planning many, many stores over the next decade,” Boost cofounder Mike Murray told the Daily Record in May.
Murray previously said the partners plan to roll out about 10 corporate locations across North Florida before franchise sales begin in late 2027.
The company held a grand opening June 10 for its first store at 7253 103rd St. in the Cedar Hills area of West Jacksonville.
A building permit for an 800-square-foot Boost Coffee location in Yulee moved closer to approval June 23 when the Nassau County Development Review Committee signed off on the project. Following the DRC sign-off, the project at 463155 Florida 200 east of U.S. 17 was routed to department heads for the final approvals needed to apply for a building permit.
Boost is also working on a West Jacksonville site along Normandy Boulevard, west of Interstate 295, that it expects to open by year-end. JEA issued a service availability letter for the 1.28-acre site May 22.
A Palm Coast site in Flagler County is expected to open next year.
In addition to coffee drinks, the Boost menu includes energy drinks, protein lattes and shakes, refreshers, smoothies, teas, Boost sodas, kids’ drinks and snacks.
The Boost website says locations are open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
