Coffee chain 7 Brew is planning a second location in St. Johns County only one month after submitting plans for what would be its first drive-thru kiosk at World Commerce Center.
The county received a preapplication for the project July 25. Plans call for a 7 Brew standard 510-square-foot kiosk with drive-thru facilities, parking, utility connections, landscaping and site improvements.
BL Cos., based in Meriden, Connecticut, with Jacksonville offices, is the civil engineer. The land is owned by 210 East LLC of Jacksonville, which is managed by Shores Liquor Store owner Reekee Patel. Shores also has a store at the site.
The store is planned next to a recently opened Smalls Sliders quick-service restaurant, which counts former NFL quarterback Drew Brees as an investor, south of the Fountains at St. Johns mixed-use development and about a half mile east of Interstate 95.
Plans for the project are scheduled to be discussed by the county Development Review Committee Aug. 18.
The County Road 210 project follows a June preapplication for a separate 7 Brew location at World Commerce Center one exit south, which would become the chain’s first St. Johns County location.
It is planned on a portion of 93 acres of developable land off International Golf Parkway purchased Feb. 19 by Fort Lauderdale-based developer Stiles Retail Group.
In total, Stiles purchased 487 acres for $45 million, but not all of that property can be developed.
As with the County Road 210 location, BL Cos. is the project civil engineer. The preapplication for that location was discussed by the DRC July 15.
The 7 Brew chain has five open kiosks in Clay, Duval and Nassau counties and has plans for one each in the Jacksonville areas of Mandarin and Lakewood, according to permit applications submitted in May.
The five operating kiosks, which 7 Brew refers to as stands, are located at 7788 Normandy Blvd. and 6730 103rd St. in West Jacksonville; 3264 Gerona Drive E. in the Beach Haven area of Jacksonville; 1940 S. 14th St. in Fernandina Beach, Nassau County; and 1676 Blanding Blvd. in Middleburg, Clay County.
The Mandarin location is planned on vacant land at northeast San Jose Boulevard and Loretto Road in Mandarin, south of I-295. The Lakewood site is planned at 3746 University Blvd. W., where Island Time Car Wash operated until 2024.
