Chewy Vet Care is taking appointments at its first Jacksonville clinic and has set a grand opening event for June 6.
The clinic is at 12675 Beach Blvd., Unit 102, in the Tamaya Market shopping center at northeast Beach and Kernan boulevards.
In a June 3 news release, the company said appointments begin June 5, followed by the opening event the next day. The event will include giveaways and tours, the release said.
In January, the city issued a permit for build-out of the clinic in 2,795 square feet at a project cost of $373,500 at Tamaya Market at northeast Beach and Kernan boulevards.
Plans submitted to the city included four exam rooms; a treatment center; pharmacy, surgery and radiology areas; vet desks; office use and a break room; and a reception area with waiting areas for cats and dogs.
In the news release, Chewy said the practice offers a viewing treatment window in exam rooms, personalized room monitors and an online portal where pet owners can access their pet’s health information at all times and integration with a network of pet health services such as Chewy Pharmacy and PetMD.
“Our team designed every detail to make veterinary care feel more comforting, connected, and transparent — from refreshments on arrival, to calming exam rooms and digital tools that keep pet parents informed before, during, and after each visit,” Mita Malhotra, president of Chewy Health, said in the release.
The Jacksonville clinic is Chewy Vet Care’s sixth site in Florida, with the others in Aventura, Boynton Beach, Coral Springs, Delray Beach and Plantation.
Chewy.com says the company is dual-headquartered in Boston and in Plantation with corporate tech hubs in Minneapolis and in Bellevue, Washington.
The site shows veterinary practice locations in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia and Texas, in addition to those in Florida.
Known as an e-commerce company, Chewy was launched in 2011 and carries about 130,000 products and services.
In fiscal year 2025, the company reported net sales of $12.6 billion, up 6.2% year-over-year or 8.3% on a normalized 52-week basis.
