Giselle Carson, immigration attorney, shareholder at Marks Gray and a past president of the Jacksonville Bar Association, is planning to take an item off her “bucket list” May 24 when she runs the Sanlan Cape Town Marathon in Cape Town, South Africa.

“This marathon will complete a journey that began in 2012 - running a marathon on all seven continents,” Carson said.

She first ran the Boston Marathon in 2012 (North America), the London Marathon in 2013 (Europe), in 2015 the Tokyo Marathon (Asia) and the Sydney Marathon in Australia in 2023.

Also in 2023, Carson ran a marathon in Antarctica and in 2025 a marathon in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (South America).

“Along the way, life evolved. I shifted into Ironman racing for a season, completed five in the U.S. and then, after the pandemic, felt called back to finish what I started,” Carson said. “This next marathon is about honoring the journey, the resilience and the version of me that keeps showing up.”
