Braxton Gillam seeking president-elect office of The Florida Bar

The former Jacksonville Bar Association leader would be next in line in 2027.

Jacksonville attorney Braxton Gillam has declared himself a candidate to be elected 2027-28 president-elect of The Florida Bar.

A partner with Milam Howard Nicandri & Gillam, he is a member of The Florida Bar board of governors representing the 4th Judicial Circuit, chair of The Florida Bar Trial Lawyers Section, cochair of The Florida Bar Program Evaluation Committee, past chair of the Florida Bar Investment Committee, incoming chair of The Florida Bar Legislation Committee and a past president of the Jacksonville Bar Association.

Gillam is a past board member and chair of the city Downtown Investment Authority and the Jacksonville Ethics Commission.

“I am running for Florida Bar President-Elect to continue serving a profession that has given me so much. Through leadership and connection, I hope to contribute in a way that supports lawyers across Florida and strengthens the work we all share,” Gillam states on voteforbraxton.com, his campaign website.
