• Mayor John Peyton tapped John Anderson to fill an empty seat on the Jacksonville Port Authority board of directors. Anderson, retired CEO and president of Patriot Transportation, also serves on the board of the Jacksonville Public Education Fund and Jacksonville University Aviation Advisory Board. If confirmed by City Council, he will fill the seat vacated by Herschel Vinyard Jr., who was appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection.
